Why good marketing still fails when the brand is unclear

Marketing can create attention, but it cannot always fix confusion. When the brand underneath is unclear, even good campaigns have to work harder than they should.

Marketing usually does not create clarity from nothing. It takes the positioning, messaging, offer, and value of the business and brings them into the market.

If those foundations are clear, marketing has something strong to amplify. If they are vague, marketing ends up spreading the same confusion across more touchpoints.
